Vital Proteins® is more than a wellness brand; it’s a mission-driven community focused on empowering people to live a full and vibrant life. Our challenge was to create a custom Shopify theme that transcended a simple e-commerce store to become a digital extension of the brand’s core values, founder’s story, and commitment to both people and the planet.

Our goal was to design a theme that didn’t just sell products, but told a compelling story, building a seamless and trustworthy user journey that reflected the brand’s ethos of “wellness as a journey.”

Key Features & Solutions Implemented:

Integrated Brand Storytelling: The homepage was custom-designed to immediately immerse visitors in the Vital Proteins® story. We created a dedicated, scrollable section highlighting founder Kurt Seidensticker’s personal journey, from his running-related knee pain to his discovery of collagen. This personal narrative builds trust and connects customers to the brand’s authentic origin.
Visualizing Leadership & Credibility: To support Vital Proteins®’ position as “The Leader in Collagen,” we developed custom modules to prominently showcase their accolades. A visually compelling section was designed to feature the Forbes 5-star review, while a dedicated area celebrated their status as a Certified B Corporation™. This strategic placement of social proof instantly builds credibility.
Community-Centric Design: The theme was built to foster a sense of belonging. We integrated a “Join our team” and “Vital Family” section directly on the homepage, making the brand’s commitment to community, diversity, and inclusion a central part of the user experience, not just a static page.
Sustainability in Focus: We created a clean, engaging module to communicate their “scoop-free” initiative. This visual element not only informs customers of the company’s commitment to a more responsible future but also aligns the website’s design with their sustainable practices.
Seamless & Intuitive Navigation: We designed an enhanced product discovery experience that mirrors the brand’s “integrated health solutions.” Users can easily navigate to products based on their specific wellness goals, helping them find their personal solution much like the founder found his.
Responsive and Performant: Built from the ground up on Shopify’s powerful framework, the custom theme is fully responsive and optimized for mobile-first performance, ensuring that the vibrant user experience is consistent on any device.
